After revisiting my original design for this poster, I decided that the typeface I originally used for my body text and headers was too much for such a small work, and decided to simplify the overall design of my information. I made the dates of each nearby event more legible, and chose typefaces that were easier for a viewer to understand and process.

I designed my poster for a four-day metal concert called ‘Hellfest.’ The genre of music inspired me to design a dark and heavy-feeling poster that portrayed the energy and type of music that concertgoers would be enjoying. I achieved this by manipulating my type to reflect a rhythmic feeling both in the cover and the information on the back of the poster, along with a metallic appearance in my type manipulation. I chose to use the typeface MetalLord Regular for my type manipulation, Trashhand for my headers, and Gotham Book, Gotham Bold, Gotham Book, and Gotham Light for my body copy in order to give my poster a sort of grungy, “metal” appearance while keeping my type legible and readable.
